Years with SDRC: 24 years with SDRC. David grew up at SDRC, mowing yards, planting flowers and shoveling snow in the early years and started in management 11 years ago after getting his degree in Communication from Asbury University. David’s experience at SDRC includes planning community events, managing department operations, overseeing resident experience, creating organization structure and systems, and project management.
What do you like about your job: David love’s people and love’s being a resource to help people find solutions. David’s strengths include leadership, management, and organization structure.
Snippet about your family: David has 4 kids, a beautiful wife and a rascal of a dog.
Hobby: David enjoys preaching and teaching, going on hikes with my family and participating in sprint triathlons. David loves bringing his kids to the community and having them serve residents along side him.

Years at SDRC: Jon has been with SDRC for 4 years serving our residents faithfully as resident relationtions cordinator, directing community social life, teaching, visitation, giving tours, and jumping in whenever and however needed.
Years of experience: Jon has worked in health care settings for 10 years and has experience in physical therapy and personal training. Jon’s experience and passion for people give him the perfect blend of personal and professional to serve with SDRC.
What do you like about your job: I love to care for and have fun with our residents. I love to feel a part of the large family feel of our Community.
I live here in Stuarts Draft with my beautiful wife and daughter Bekah and Lucy.
Hobby: Jon is an avid reader and loves to excercise. When he is not in the office he is most likely pounding the pavement or participating in a local race.

Years with SDRC: Carrie joined the SDRC team 2.5 years ago and has been an invaluable part of our team during much transition! During Carrie’s 2.5 years we opened a new wing, transitioned out of the original assisted living building and created many new systems and processes.
Years of experience: Carrie started her carrier on the floor as a nursing assistance. Over the last 25 years she has worked in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Carrie recently added Administrator to her many other certificates and licenses.
What do you like about your job: The bonds made with families and residents. The opportunity to work with an outstanding team of caregivers AND management. The ability to put into action, the vision of the owners.
My family: I have 2 beautiful daughters and 2 just as beautiful grandbabies
Hobbies: Crafting, yoga, and raising barnyard chickens

Years with SDRC: Julie joined the team 1.5 years ago.
Years of experience: 20+ Office Management/Bookkeeping; 13 Hospital Payroll and Cancer Center; 9 Finance/Insurance. Julie brings strength to the SDRC team with here vast experience in the world of finance. Julie’s attention to detail and strong organization skills enable her to run the business office with precision and integrity.
What do you like about your job: The People: God loving residents and staff, and everyone involved in making this wonderful ministry work.
Snippet about your family: Raised in beautiful Colorado. Moved to Virginia and found the Lord and my Husband. Happy to say last year I was able to join several of my family members who also work at SDRC.
Hobby: Julie enjoys Bible Study and Art! She brings her hobbies with her to SDRC teaching art classes and hosting painting parties with the residents. Her smile is infectious and her servants heart is felt by all residents and family.

Years with SDRC: Austin has been with our team for 2 years and has helped open 10 new units, a new assisted living wing and helped streamline our maintenance systems.
Years of experience: Austin has 15 years of experience in the construction industry, included time as an underwater welder.
What do you like about your job: Austin’s big heart makes him the perfect candidate to help meet the needs of our residents daily.
I really enjoy solving problems and creating solutions. Helping those in need is where I want to be.
Snippet about your family: Born and raised in Chesapeake, VA I moved to the valley and married my wife Rachel, who is a labor and delivery nurse at Sentara RMH, we have a wonderful one year old daughter Eloise and a Golden Retriever named Winston.
Hobby: When I’m not working on things at SDRC You can find me at home working on our 100 year old house remodeling rooms and working in my shop creating projects. I also really enjoy fishing and drinking coffee, often at the same.
Years with SDRC: Gary has worked with SDRC for 3.5 years in the dietary department.
Years of experience: Gary has over 30 years of culinary experience with over half of those years serving in elderly care communities. Gary has participated in culinary competitions and holds both gold and silver medals!
What do you like about your job: The people! Cooking here is like cooking with my family.
Snippet about your family: Gary’s love of cooking came from his Mom and he hopes to be as great as her one day.
Besides cooking, Gary love’s to read, spend time with my dog and he enjoys gardening.
